Schoolchildren urged to adopt 'Bee Safe' habits

OVER 500 pupils from 15 primary schools across the borough were buzzing with enthusiasm and busy gaining knowledge at an event aimed at encouraging children to become more aware of their own safety.

Organised by Craigavon District Policing Partnership in association with the Police Service of Northern Ireland, the ‘Bee Safe’ event is a safety learning initiative aimed at helping Primary 6 & Primary 7 pupils gain vital knowledge on how to adopt good safety habits, cope with potential hazards and how to avoid dangerous situations.

Members of the Police Service of Northern Ireland, The NI Fire and Rescue Service, Translink, NI Railways, NI Electricity, The Health Promotion Agency and Craigavon Borough Council’s Home Safety Team all delivered fun and interactive workshops promoting life skills, teamwork and personal safety during the three day event, which took place at the Gordon Pavilion, Lurgan.
